An Evening of Songs with Eleni Mandell, Milo Jones, and Zander Schloss!

With doors at 6:30 PM and the show commencing at 7:00, you won't want to miss this one: With husband-wife duo Eleni and Milo playing both solo and duo sets + Zander Schloss bringing his first solo recordings to the stage, it's set to be a truly magical night!

Husband and wife duo Eleni Mandell & Milo Jones cut their teeth on sophisticated clustered chords and tender-yet-gut-wrenching subject matter that will suck the breath right out of you. Lyrics range from the lonely life of a lady in prison to the rigors of being a single mother to twins, to sometimes simply not wanting to get out of bed to greet the day. Eleni and Milo wax and wane with gorgeous melodies that sore and dive like exotic birds battling a category-four storm. They may be cute, and their music comes wrapped in a real pretty bow; but watch out... Don’t forget your tear rag!

Well-known to punk rock aficionados for his nearly four-decade tenure as the Circle Jerks’ bassist, Zander Schloss opens a new chapter in his musical career with the release of his first solo recording, Song About Songs. Schloss had a featured role in the 1984 cult classic feature Repo Man, played live and on recordings with Joe Strummer of The Clash, and recorded with Low & Sweet Orchestra, Magnificent Bastards, Thelonious Monster, and The Weirdos. Song About Songs, which features the Los Angeles-based performer as singer, guitarist, and writer of nine striking original compositions, displays a revelatory new aspect of his work.

Veteran Los Angeles music journalist and critic Chris Morris writes in the album’s liner notes, “Played tenderly, with a striking intimacy, the subtle and affecting material on Song About Songs may well come as a surprise to listeners who know Zander Schloss only from three decades of bash-it-out work with the Circle Jerks and other punk units….Here, we get a long overdue look at a hitherto unheard side of his musical personality.
